Kaya's 1st Birthday Party

We had a wonderful party with lots of friends and family there. At first Kaya was a little unsure what she was supposed to do with her cake, but it didn't take long for her to figure it out and dig right in as you can see. Thank you to all of you who helped make Kaya's 1st birthday extra special!!

11 months

Caught in the act! Kaya loves to pull all of her books off the bookshelf, it has been one of her favorite things to do lately as you can see. She now has tooth #5, and seems to be working on some more. Our nights have not been very much fun lately. This is her 3rd week at her new daycare, and so far it seems to be going well for everyone. She can stand by herself for short periods, but has not attempted the first true step on her own yet. As long as she is touching something she can get anywhere and everywhere she wants to go though. She definately keeps us on our toes! It is hard for us to believe her 1st birthday is less than a month away!

10 months

All smiles! She is showing off that she can now take actual bites out of things. She is eating a rice cake here, and loving it!

9 months

Jeremy built Kaya a swingset. She loves it! She has absolutely no fear- the higher she goes, the harder she laughs. She just got her fourth tooth in, so now two on bottom and two on top. She has learned how to say "Hi" and it is all we have been hearing the last few days. "Hi, hi, hi". We are all doing well, but not really looking forward to the end of summer sneaking up on us so fast.

Our 1st "real" family vacation

We took a week vacation! We stayed at Jeremy's parents place up at Big Star Lake. We did lots of relaxing, it was very nice. We even took a day and went to Ludington. Kaya is now crawling all over the place and pulling up on everything. She is definately keeping us busy!

Our friend Addison's baptism...

Addison was baptised on Sunday July 16, 2006 at Rockford United Methodist church. I am her very proud Godmother! It was a very special day. Addison wore the dress that we made for Kaya's baptism.

Kaya's first Blissfest

My friend Abby and I have been going to Blissfest, which is a folk music festival, almost annually for about 7 years now. Kaya went last year, but she was still in my belly, so this year was the first year for her to get the full experience. She seemed to love the music, and enjoyed all the people.

8 months

This was on the 4th of July at the Pitzer's house. Kaya was trying to eat Addison!

7 months

Kaya's first trip to Big Star Lake for Memorial Day weekend. She is in her first 2 piece bathing suit. Her and Rylee had so much fun in their little pool.

Easter

Jeremy hated the fact that I put this bonnet on Kaya, but I figured there would never be another day to put it to use. I thought it was kind of cute, atleast for 1 picture! We had Easter dinner at Grandma and Grandpa Sterk's.

6 months

Kaya loves her new little car! We have been spending lots of time outside riding around in it. She thinks it is hilarious when we "crash".

The birth of Kaya's best friend!

My best friend Sara had her baby on 04/04/06. Her name is Addison Faith, and she is Kaya's best friend in the making. I got to be there to witness it all, but Kaya didn't get to come until the next day. Welcome to the world Addison! Congratulations Sara and Matt!
