A trip to Big Star...

We had a great weekend at Big Star with just us and Auntie Karen. It was very nice to get some relaxation in! Kaya had a ton of fun ofcourse.

In the above pic Kaya is crying b/c she was scared to go out on the sailboat with us.

So... Mommy got to go without her!

The neighbors in the cottage next door had a party on Sat evening. We wnet over to hang out for a little while, and Kaya joined right into the band. They thought it was great and didn't mind a bit, so she played and played that little tambourine for quite a while. She was on cloud nine!

There were atleast 6 puppies under the age of 12 weeks up at the lake this weekend, so Maci fit right in. It was nice b/c there were other dogs that didn't know any better either, so they got to explore together. Maci was pretty good for us all weekend though and it was nice for her to get some socialization.

A funny I had to share...

So 3 months ago I took Kaya with me to Walgreens to get my prescription. The whole way home Kaya was worried about me, asking if I was sick, and what was wrong. I tried everyway I could to tell her I was okay. She was still worried. I finally said to her that this medicine makes it so mommy can't have any more babies. End of story.
Well...no. We went up north this weekend, everything was packed and ready to go with us. We were loading up the car. I was outside, Jer and Kaya inside. I came into the house and Jer looks at me and says to Kaya, "Ask mommy the same question you just asked me." Kaya turns to me with my BC pills in her hand and said, "Are these so you don't have anymore babies Mama?" I laughed and laughed. Jer could not believe it b/c he did not know I had told her that a few months back. Just thought I would share this, because it was too cute not to share....

Welcome Home Maci!

I don't know who was happier on the way home...

I don't know how to rotate this video, so it's sideways, sorry. This is the story of our weekend summed up in a nutshell for you...

and probably the story of our lives for years to come!

So, Maci is home and everything is going surprisingly well. Maci is SO small! She is easily lost, and is always underneath your feet it seems. She is doing good with going outside so far. We don't think she had been in the grass before Thursday night when we brought her home. It was absolutely hilarious to see her prance around and freak out about it. She is not too stable on her feet yet, so she prances, pounces, and falls on her face a lot. She has already brought us all hours of enjoyment. Kaya is totally in love with Maci, and Maci loves Kaya also. Maci cries for Kaya if she goes inside w/o her, and constantly is chasing Kaya around. Kaya is constantly bothering her and Maci doesn't even care. It is too cute to see them together. So... so far, so well with the new Sterk family of 4!

4 years ago today...

Was a perfect day!
I married a wonderful man, who helps me be me and gets me through most days. 7/17/04 was the day it all began as one, instead of two.
Jer- I love you very much. I love you today as much as I loved you 4 years ago, and I plan to love you 30+years from now as much as I do today.
You are my life, my love, my forever.

We are officially adding to our little family today too. Maci is coming home tonight! Happy Anniversary to us!

A visit with Maci...

We went to hang out with our puppy this morning. She will hopefully be coming home with us by this weekend. The breeder is talking with the vet again tomorrow to be sure he is going to release them at 6 weeks with a clean bill of health. If so, we will be picking her up this Thursday, our 4th anniversary. It was so fun watching her play and run around. They are at the fun puppy age and are all crazy! The good thing is, Maci is the most mellow of them all so far. The little black one that I originally wanted was a spaz today!

The 1st one to the food!

A night out!!

Jer and I went to a wedding tonight. We had a lot of fun. Thank you to Joanne for babysitting for us so we could go. We have a HUGE lack of babysitters so we were truly thankful she helped us out. It was nice to have a night out with my husband.
The happy couple below- Matt and Traci Schroeder. Matt is the son of my friend Kim from work. Congrats to Matt and Traci!
Me, Rachelle, and Abby at the reception. (That is baby Fiona in her belly, due Sept. 15.)
Abby and Tony dancing.
Mark, Rachelle, and Fiona in the belly.
I thought this was too funny. Matt hangs signs for a living, so this "S" was at the deejay booth, since their last name is Schroeder. We asked where it came from, does anyone know???This is officially from an old Beaners sign! I thought that was too funny. Goodbye Beaners, hello Biggby. Yummmm. Coffee. Biggby will always be Beaners to me. :)

Play date.

We visited with my friend Liliana and her family this week. Kaya has not seen them in quite a while. She used to spend her days with them everyday when Sara was doing our childcare(well over a year ago now). They were so happy to see each other. Lili made us dinner too. :) Thanks!Miranda ("Dita"), Kaylee, and Kaya.

Lili and Kaylee.

This is 2 stories up! I was freaking out about Kaya being up there, but ofcourse Lili's girls are used to it. Kaya was fine though.
