Kaya is in a big girl bed!!

My baby is officially not a baby anymore. The crib is long gone. She is so proud! Mommy hasn't quite gotten over it yet. It is a huge milestone in the life of a mother, atleast this mother, to have to permanantly put away your baby's crib. It was a sad day for me. Thanksgiving night was her first night in her new bed, and she hasn't gone back. We waited until today to take the crib down just in case, but she has done awesome!! I can honeastly say it went smoother than I ever imagined it would. We didn't have a problem whatsoever. We just told her she either stayed in her big girl bed, or she goes back to the baby bed, and she officially wanted nothing to do with her "baby" bed. And that was that...

Thanksgiving 2007

Kaya hung out with her Sterk cousins for Thanksgiving this year. They had a ton of fun together. Katelyn is almost 6 months old already! It goes so fast. Kaya had the most fun in Katelyn's bouncy seat, bottoming it out of course. Eli is sportin' his new do, I am not so sure he knows what to think about it yet...

Trick Or Treat!

Kaya had an evening of fun with her cousins for Halloween. She did an awesome job trick or treating but she tends to enjoy whispering at the times when she's supposed to speak up. They had a ton of fun, although we got slightly rained on. I chased a witch hat down the road a couple too many times too, but it all worked out.

Kaya's Party at School

I got to sneak away from work for a few to drop in on my daughter's first real halloween party. It was a ton of fun to get to see her in full action with her friends that she spends so much of her time with. They even sang some of their songs for me. It was so much fun. She was happy to have me there, although she was very possessive of me. "That's MY Mommy!"

A trip to the park...

We went to Hager Park and it was absolutely gorgeous with all of the leaves. Good times!

Kaya turned 2!! Happy Birthday Kaya!

Whoa, has she ever been excited about all this attention and excitement. She hasn't known what to do with herself. Has it really been 2 whole years already?! I don't know what to do with myself maybe? Kaya went to the doctor today for her 2 year checkup. No shots! :) She is 34.5 inches tall, and weighed 26.5 lbs. In other words, she is tall and skinny. She is healthy and good to go! She got to get a Happy Meal too. It had been 365 days since she had her last one. It was a beautiful fall day too so we even got to play outside.

Visiting with family for her birthday...

Kaya got to see so many family and friends this past week. It has been great! Thanks to all of you who shared in Kaya's birthday with us. We couldn't do it without you guys!

On Sunday we took Kaya to get her 2 year pics. taken, and of course Mommy had not yet had enough of Kaya in her dress, so I had to take even more pics. She was just too cute to pass up.

Mommy made Kaya a special gift

Kaya has been really into her blankie's lately, so I decided to make her another one to add to the collection. This one is the only one big enough to actually cover her up all the way these days. I even gave it to her a night early.


As you can see, she settled in with it very quickly.

Addison is in town!!!

Kaya got a shiner...

I swear she did this to herself! She was jumping on the couch, which she obviously is not allowed to do, and smacked her eye right on the edge of the endtable. The 1st pic. is not long after it happened. The 2nd pic was the next day. Do you think she learned a lesson from all of this?? No! She attempted to jump on the couch again the other day. Live, and eventually learn, hopefully...

Playing Outside...

It was absoslutely gorgeous outside today and we took advantage and played outside. Kaya now has a big girl swing and she knows how to wind herself up and then spin around really fast. It really makes me nervous, but she seems to enjoy it.

Kaya absolutely loves playing with her cousins, Rylee and Katelyn. Kaya loves it at their house because they have so much land to run on. We even went across the street and fed apples to the horses. Kaya was a little freaked out because the horse tried to very loudly blow snot all over her. After that she was a little unsure, but she has been talking about it all week since then so it must not have been so bad in the longrun.
