Enjoying a new toy...

We went out and bought these stringing beads tonight, and Kaya absolutely loves them!! It took her a minute to get the hang of it, but she now has it mastered and is obsessed with putting them on and taking them back off, over and over and over and...
You can see how hard she was concentrating. I must say though, that we haven't found a toy to keep her on task for this long in a while.

This may look like nonsense to most of you, but to the Sterk household this looks like a miracle!! This is Kaya's potty chart! Notice all of the stickers?! She has been doing absolutely awesome! She has even had some totally dry days already, and we just began officially "trying" on Sat. Jan. 19. She needs reminders still, but does ask at times on her own, and even goes #2 on the potty! She is so stinkin' proud of herself, and her parents are too. :) Pull-ups by day, still diapers by night, but on our way to big girl panty heaven soon enough. Please pray for us that it continues to go this smoothly.

Dress up anyone?

Yes, Grandma Myra came over...with more dress up clothes. She is going to turn my little girl into a girly-girl if it's the last thing she does. Kaya loves getting dressed up, and putting jewelry on, and prancing around the house. Who am I to stop all of this madness?!

Cartoons anyone?

Kaya just loves it when Kaleb comes over to play. They played hard for quite a while, and I swear had every toy in the house on the floor at the same time. It was a disaster. They eventually sort of settled down on the couch and watched some shows together. I just thought this pic was too cute!

Awaiting Baby Pitzer...

We are getting down to the wire here for the birth of Sara's baby. Her due date is a little wishy washy, as they often times are, so we are just awaiting the arrival at the proper time at this point. Please keep her and the baby in your prayers in the weeks, months, years... to come. :) They are all doing good at this point. I will be doing some traveling to the good old state of Florida as soon as I can get there once this baby is born. The sex is yet to be determined, so I personally, am very anxious to find out, and also personally hate this unknown way of doing things in case I hadn't told Sara that yet :) There is always a link to her blog along the side of mine, but here is a quick peek at her rough life in the terrible weather they have been having. :)

A visit with Kaleb

The Sutter's came over on New Years Day to hang out. They bought us a toy organizer and Kaya and Kaleb ran around with the bins on their heads. It was rather amusing.

The end of our Christmas Extravaganza

I thought this pic of Kaya and Rylee was so cute. Kaya's hair is getting darker by the second, so I have to soak it in while I still can.

It was also Grandpa's birthday! Kaya spent some time hangin' out on his lap.

Chrismas Day

Kaya got to hang out with her Great Grandparents on Christmas Day. She absolutely loves it over there. She is constantly showing off for them because she knows that is what they want her to do. :) She brings them more joy than I can even imagine. It is cool to have this time to cherish.

Christmas Morning 2007

Kaya got a new baby for Christmas, and Mommy made them both a matching scarf. Kaya thought that was pretty cool. The first thing she did was eat the cookie crumbs that Santra had left behind. That was better than the presents he brought for sure. It was a fun Christmas for all of us this year. It is nice that Kaya is starting to be able to understand, and she definately has the present unwrapping perfected at this point.

Sterk Christmas

We had such a good time at the Sterk's on Christmas Eve. The kids always have so much fun together, and it is even more exciting now that they are able to communicate and play with each other so much better. Katelyn is starting to interact and hang out more too. It is so much fun to watch her grow up.

Rylee and Kaya got matching sweaters made by Grandma ofcourse. Eli got a blue one too. Here is Kaya coughing while she is posing to get her picture taken. Attractive, I know.

Playing in the snow...

We went sledding today at Lamar Park, and we had so much fun! Kaya absolutely loved it, and she even got to go down all the fresh snow covered slides. She did NOT want to go home.

Her laugh is priceless.

She loves to eat snow. I try to tell her no, but do you think she listens to me? She likes to say that it's "ice cream". She knows better, but she thinks she is awfully funny for calling it that. She has been starting to pretend lately a lot. It is so funny to watch her. She interacts with her dolls now too, and has been making them walk around. It is too cute!

She was very intrigued by the snowblower.

Christmas Party with the Whole Sterk Family

Kaya loves singing with her Auntie Karen. They have lots of favorites that they know together, and sing together every Saturday morning at Mr. Burger. Here is one they sang for all of us at the Christmas party. These memories sure are priceless.

Trying to get rid of the FAT!!!

Okay so, for all of you who have been asking, here ya go! I am sooo embarrassed to have this 1st pic on here, due to the HUGE belly I have in it. Yes, Kaya was 12 months old in that pic, and mommy was just still that fat. Disgusting, I know! I have been dieting since March 26, 2007 and I have now officially dropped 42 pounds!! I am smaller than I was pre-pregnancy, and even smaller than I was on my wedding day! :) I am wearing the same outfit in both pics for the comparison. It was very amusing having those pants on let me tell ya!
Move over Jared... Megan is coming through!
Now I just have to keep it off...

Mommy got a new camera!!

Jer got our family a new camera!! I have been wanting one for a long time, and the day finally came! I have been playing around with it a little tonight, trying to figure it all out. Here are a few of our trial photos of our beautiful little girl. :)
