Labor Day Weekend

We went to Big Star for Labor Day weekend this year. It was nice to get away. Kaya loves being in the water. Fortunately Auntie Karen enjoys taking her b/c I am not a huge fan of lake swimming. They always have a ton of fun together playing in the water.

My happy family of 3, minus me ofcourse. :)

A night out with some friends

Sara and Eddie.
Me and Anna.
It was Anna's 28th birthday, and it was the 28th, so it was her golden birthday even.
Happy Birthday Anna!!
I was glad I was able to hang out with you for a while.

My work picnic

Kaya claiming her prize at the duck pond.
The kids were supposed to eat the donut the fastest w/o using their hands. The older kids thought it was a riot trying. The younger ones just wanted the donut.

Moving The Pitzer's into their Michigan house

The Pitzer's are officially stationed in Michigan for the time being. And I am LOVING it! I am so glad they are closer, and am anxious to spend some time with them all. Moving day is never really much fun though, and I am glad they are feeling a little more settled finally.

Colin giggling with his Daddy.
Addison all geared up in her Dora attire.
Time for a cold one after all that work.

Hudsonville Fair 2008

We try to go to the fair every year, usually on Friday night b/c we like to go to the motocross. The Sutters came along this year. The kids had lots of fun riding rides, looking at all of the animals, and watching the "motorcycles" (aka dirtbikes).

Above Kaya poses with Uncle Tom's pigs.

Yeah, so Kaya wanted to ride the racecar ride b/c Kaleb was going on it. I didn't think she would even make it into the car. Well, up she went all by herself, she found a car, hopped in, let the guy put her seatbelt on for her even, and away she went. Around and around, each time around the corner she would fly to the far side of the seat, all the while her face getting more and more upset. What do you do?? Fortunately another child stood up so the guy stopped the ride to reprimand him to sit down. WHile it was stopped I asked if I could please get my crying child off. Off she came, and the others finished their ride. I was impressed with how long it actually lasted.
More Kaya's kind of ride, the good ole carousel.Kids on the loose in the bleachers, look out.

Camping with the Sutters

Kaya and I went to Shelley Lake on Saturday night with the Sutter's. Jer was working at Sara's house all weekend to get her ready to move her stuff in, so we headed North without him. Kaya was good all weekend, and we had such a great time! Sorry for so many pics in this post, but there were a lot I liked. As you can see Abby is rolling Kaleb's pantlegs up so he can splash his feet in the water.
Next thing you know Kaleb is in his diaper, b/c his pants got wet.
Then... Kaya wanted to undress too, ofcourse. To her underwear.

Ahhh, Shelley Lake. A great place.
Wet undies off, dry shirt back on, and one cute picture that my husband is going to kill me for putting on here.
The worst part about it all is that Kaya now wants to go swimming in her undies all the time. It has come up numerous times since then.

Tony's brother Chris came with us too, in the pic below.
The little thing between Abby's hands is a tiny frog.
One dirty girl...

Kaya and Kaleb were trying so hard to get up on this log. It was so funny to watch them. I must say I was not sure that Kaya could make it.
But...
They both made it!

Kaya, and Abby, were obsessed with the lilly pad's. Literally they played with them for hours. They had this weird clear slime growing on them and it was quite fascinating, but the two of them could not quit.

They were changing colors, because unfortunately things seem to be starting to do that around here. It can't be happening already!?

Nothing better...

Than good friends. And, even better than that are good friend's that live a LOT closer again! Sara is back from Florida! The best news that I have had in a long time. She has been living in Fl. for the past 15 months and I have missed the heck out of her and her family. It even grew by one member in that time period. Now that she is here I get to play catch up with those kids of her's and take in as much Sara time as I can get. This time in Michigan may not be too permanant for them, but I am going to love having them here while I can. :) I had a little get together for all of us girls at my house, for old times sake. It was so nice to be all together for an evening.

Marne and Sara hanging out.
Sara and Lili.
Abby, Kristy, Marne, Liliana, Sara, Jer, and Kaya all hanging out. Why do I always have to be the one taking the pics?? I was there I swear.

Kaya on her last wind of the evening... looking awfully cute.
And her chair ended up on top of the slide before it was all over.
