A visit with the Sutter Family

We got to meet the girls that Abby and her family are hoping to adopt. Their names are Kalaya, almost 4, and Keira, 16 months. That would put Kaleb smack dab in the middle of the pack. :) We had a very nice visit, and it was good to finally put faces on these girls we have been hearing so much about. Please keep the Sutter's and the girls in your thoughts during this time, as this whole process is very difficult in more ways than we can fathom. They are a very strong family, with huge hearts, and deserve nothing but the best for their family, whatever that outcome may be.Abby and Keira

Kaya's 1st swimming lesson

Kaya had so much fun at swimming lessons today. It was her 1st of 8 classes through Grandville Public Schools. The water was pretty cold though, and her lips were blue by the time we were done. Poor kid. She did enjoy it though and did really good actually. She let me put her on her back, she moved her arms and legs good, she even "choo-chooed" around the side of the pool without me even hanging onto her. I even dunked her twice, which she wasn't so thrilled about, but did pretty good. It can only get better...

She was a little nervous at first about being Ms. Claire's guinea pig, but she did relax and as this next pic. shows she kicked away on her back. :)

Kaya is really into my IPOD lately. She knows how to switch the songs and thinks she is totally hot stuff. She sings along and it is too cute. I found her these headphones b/c my other ones were constantly falling out, driving us both crazy. These ones work great!

Up she goes...

Other than winter sledding this was our 1st trip to Lamar Park this year. Last year Kaya was afraid of this slide, and I would have never let her go down it even if she wasn't. This year- Up, up, up she goes all by herself. It's amazing what a few months do to a child this age. The trek up freaked me out a little, but I know she can do it. The girl has no fear, of anything really, and that in turn freaks me out. She lets me do all the worrying for both of us I guess.

Finally some SUNshine!!

We finally got some nicer weather and ofcourse we headed outside to enjoy it. It is sad that 40 degrees feels awesome to us this time of year. There are still snow piles everywhere, but I'll take what we can get. :) Kaya got a brand new tub of chalk today and man was she excited about it.
As you can see she apparently needs them all at the same time.

Family trip to Frederick Meijer Gardens

We went to the gardens to see the butterflies again this year. Kaya absolutely loved it. She almost liked the birds more than the butterflies though. We had a great time.

Happy Valentine's Day!

My loving husband sent me flowers to work today, along with a very nice card, and I came home to this:A heart-shaped pizza! Kaya thought it was so cool! I also came home to this:
Her 2nd shiner! This one happened at school today. She somehow hit the door frame. Due to the location on her eyelid it wouldn't stop bleeding. Therefore mommy got a call at work letting her know what happened. Ofcourse there was nothing I could do at that point, except worry, and feel bad, and get an upset stomach. Oh the joys of motherhood. I am sure in the morning the colors will be shining through...

Goodbye Florida, Hello Michigan!

This picture does no justice to what I really experienced, but this is my car after I got done digging it out and chiseling it off. The drifts were over the hood of my car. It was what I consider absolutely ridiculous! I was in 80 degree weather 6 hours before this pic. was taken. Did I mention the windchill was -22!? Welcome home!

Pics of Colin Matthew Pitzer!

Here are a few of my favorites of Colin from my trip to Florida this past week. He is too cute! I am having withdrawls from his cuddling already.

Florida Trip...

Some pics from my trip to Florida Feb. 7-10. Addison has gotten so big since I saw her in October. She is talking and singing songs like crazy. It was great to get to spend time with the Pitzer family. I miss having them around so much. We had lots of fun together, and most of all I got to have some special bonding time with Colin. He is perfect!

The awesome part is that I am going to Florida on Thursday to see the Pitzer family of 4! I cannot wait!

Occupying time while Sara's in labor...

Sara is in labor and Mommy is anxious so we went outside to play in the snow. We had so much fun! Kaya loves being outside more than anything.
She is a penguin. Ofcourse Dora taught her to walk like this. She does it all the time.

She is a "witch".
